Classical music concerts near you
Sonatique lists the classical music concerts coming up from tonight onward, each with its programme, its performers and a way to get tickets. Share your approximate location and Home shows the concerts near you; save the music you love and Sonatique points out the performances you would not want to miss.
Classical concerts, from tonight onward
The Events tab is one chronological list of upcoming classical concerts, grouped by day and starting with tonight. Each entry tells you where and when, who is performing and what is on the programme, so you can tell at a glance whether an evening is worth planning around.
Quick filters narrow the list to tonight, tomorrow, this weekend or the next seven days. Times are always shown in the venue's local time, which matters as soon as you are planning a trip rather than an evening out. And from any venue, performer, ensemble or piece in the app, See all opens the calendar already filtered to it. Performer and venue pages show their own upcoming dates too, with the hall and the number of performances scheduled.
Concerts near you, only if you want them
Turn on Concerts near you when you set up the app, or later in Settings, and Sonatique uses your approximate location to show nearby performances near the top of Home. It never asks for your precise position: the app requests approximate location only, and the coordinates it sends are rounded to about a kilometre.
Location stays off until you switch it on, it is used for nothing but finding concerts, and you can turn it off again whenever you like. Without it, Home simply shows what is on stage this week. The switch lives in Settings under Notifications and location.
A For you row built from the music you follow
Save pieces, composers, ensembles and venues to your collections and the Events tab starts matching them against the concert calendar. The For you row brings forward upcoming performances that feature a work you saved, include music by a composer you follow, bring an ensemble you like to the stage, or take place in a hall you care about.
Every card says why it is there, so a recommendation is never a mystery. Collections, and with them the For you row, are part of Sonatique Premium. The row holds up to ten concerts at a time. Concerts also appear where they belong elsewhere in the app: near the end of a piece's page, and on the pages of the venues, performers and ensembles involved.
Everything about a concert on one page
Open a concert to see the full programme, piece by piece, and every performer taking part. Tickets and More info open the organiser's own pages without leaving the app, and Directions hands the venue to your maps app. Sonatique does not sell tickets itself, so you always buy directly from the organiser or the venue.
When the same programme is performed on other dates, they are listed under Also on. Cancelled and postponed performances are clearly marked, and you can save a concert to a collection to keep it within reach until the night. Every piece on the programme links to its own page, so you can read about the music before the evening begins.
